The Chinese American Doctors Association of Houston (CADAH) is a non-profit organization formed in 1993 to unite Chinese American doctors in promoting their social and professional image. We will try to assist any member as well as non-member Chinese American doctors who may be in need.
Also, we will make efforts to promote and strengthen the mutual understanding and collaboration among other Asian American doctor organizations for the common goal of safeguarding the rights and welfare of all Asian American doctors. Membership is open to any United States citizen or permanent resident who is a licensed physician or dentist in good standing in at least one state of the United States.
There are several types of membership: lifetime, regular, resident, student, and associate members. CADAH is run by a board of directors and officers who are elected from the lifetime and regular members. We have regular activities, both educational and social, which include continuing medical education talks, participation in community health fairs, an annual Chinese New Year gala, and an annual general assembly.
In 2003, the CADAH Foundation was formed to be the charitable arm of CADAH. It is a tax exempt organization formed under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. It was organized exclusively for educational purposes to award scholarships for Houston area medical and dental students, to organize medically related lectures for the Asian communities, and to provide health fairs with monetary donations and medical and dental services. It manages a trust fund and is run by a board of directors and officers elected from this board. All board members are either lifetime or regular members of CADAH.
